Chaplain Chat 19/9/14
This coming week in our Worship times we are going to be looking deeper at GOODNESS. To me this isn’t a goodness which is a warm fuzzy feeling which is gone in a moment because we have had our reward, but it is something which becomes a lifestyle choice.
So how are the ‘goodness’ levels in your house? At times I am sure they can be high, especially when it means rewards but again when children or parents are tired the goodness level seems to go down.
There are a number of events in the bible which show God’s goodness to his people and when Jesus was on the earth we see that people were drawn to him and followed him because of the goodness he showed through things like healing the sick, the paralysed, those in severe pain and other disabilities (Matt 4:24&25)
But for us this week lets choose to do what Philippians 4:8 says
‘Finally brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things.’
Let’s choose to think and also act on seeing the good things and when we do, it becomes attractive to others who may follow our example.
